Week 8

Lecture: At the end of the week 7 lecture, the lecturer talked about Web Content Management System (CMS).CMS is a content management system. It is a software that helps users to create, manage and modify the content of a website without the need for technical expertise. The tutor also introduced WordPress; WordPress is an open source (CMS). It is a popular tool for people who do not have any coding experience and want to create websites and blogs.

In addition, the instructor showed a YouTube video on how to use WordPress. The video includes 20 minutes of techniques for using it, which can be learnt in the YouTube video. The instructor also showed some videos on how to make a website and some of the problems you will encounter in making a website. The instructor will teach us how to solve these problems and explain them. All the videos will be posted on Google Classroom for students' reference.

In addition, the instructor showed the students some WordPress themes. The first was Astra, which is a free minimalist WordPress theme with super customisable directions. The second was Monochrome, a one-click theme setup option that allows you to quickly integrate plugins, demos, content, and Gutenberg blocks. The third is OceanWp. This theme can be easily developed and customised according to your business. The fourth is Brisko. this is a perfect minimalist theme that is optimised for excellent performance and can be used for personal blogs, portfolios, business and any type of minimalist website. The fifth one is Opta, which is a minimal WordPress theme that focuses on displaying portfolio images in an elegant and precise way. Last but not least is Remake, Remake is a portfolio-based minimal WordPress theme designed to showcase the smooth and stunning positioning of a business or personal website while ensuring an inspiring user experience.

Today is our group flip presentation. We were the first team to present it on lecture class, but its on online due to the Hari Raya Holiday. The presentation is to find 4 different studios and introduce them, each person should found one website and present it. The each studios is Maroon Studio, Cubeevo, Walk Production and Corsiva Lab. These brand was in the design industry, and most of them were work in design website. 

After finishing the presentation, our classmate have ask four different question to know about the website. The first question is what is gamification, our answer was Gamification is adding game mechanics into nongame environments, like a website, online community, learning management system or business' intranet to increase participation. The goal of gamification is to engage with consumers, employees and partners to inspire collaborate, share and interact.

The second question is what sets Cubeevo apart from others. We think the Cubeevo's quality of work and the design concept & style was very good compare to others company, they are more unique and modern.

The third question is how these website brands have inspires us. We think the biggest inspires for us was we can learn from there brands on their website design and style. Thier website layout is very interesting and it is a good thing to let us learn when we were currently working on design our website.

The last question is out of the 4 studios which one we like the most. We like the Cubeevo out of the 4 studios, as we already answer the second question. We think the Cubeevo is more quality and the design concept & style was very good. 

Maroon Studio are an interactive design and social media solutions agency located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. They provide services such as social media management, gamification and AR, website design and UIUX, photo and video. They worked with many clients such as Air Asia, Mcdonald's, and Nestle Malaysia.




Cubeevo were an advertising & digital agency based in Malaysia. They provide branding, advertising, website design and UIUX, Packaging. They also worked with many clients such as Wolf Gelato, Kokuyo, and Stabilo.




Walk Production deliver a complete creative and branding services that showcase customer company culture and engages consumers. They provide many different services such as Branding & Design, Publication, Copywriting, Web Design, and Content Marketing. They have worked with many clients such as Desa Parkcity, Food Panda, and Gary Lee & Partners.





Corsiva Lab were committed to creating a greater online presence for their clients. They provide Corporate Web Design, E-Commerce Websites, and Web Apps Development. Their quality of work brought them close to 1000+ clients, including compnaies like Capirtaland, Loreal, Grab, and Franck Muller.




Practical & Tutorial: On week 8, I was working on the video showreel progress. Lecturer asking us to provide a 30 second video showreel in order to showcase in website hompage. This video showreel can help visitor to understand what is our portfolio look alike. The video can be a short introduction of my portfolio, so heres the video showreel progress.

Week 10 Lecture: This is week 10 lecture class, today lecturer teach us what is S.E.O? S.E.O is Search Engine Optimization, it is the process of improving the quality and quantity of website traffic to a website or a web page from search engines. SEO are actually is quite simple and is worth the effort. It got 57.8% of all web traffic coming from google, it certainly something worth learning. SEO is important because it's the process oif boosting these signals to rank higher in the organic search results. SEO leads to more traffic, it was ranking higher usually drives more traffic to website.  Practical & Tutorial: On today work, we need to find a client to create a new website fro them. Week 11 Lecture: Today is week 11 lecture class, lecturer teach us what is website frameworks. It is widely popular these days, it mainly because these frameworks make it possible to create a single website that would fit into all kinds of devices regardless of their screen sizes. A framework refers to a package, comprising a structure of files and folders of standarlized code, which can be used in building a website.
